The custom of carving and giving Welsh Lovespoons originated in Wales hundreds of years ago. Originally they were carved by young men and offered to the girls they loved as tokens of affection. Over the years, as the lovespoons became more elaborate and decorative, they have become collectables and given for many special occasions.
