St Justin of Cornwall Cornish Christening Quaich

Originating from Scotland, the Quaich is an ancient vessel or cup traditionally used to celebrate a bond between two clans. It was used in the 17th century to offer welcome to travelers and is now commonly used in wedding and christening ceremonies.

 

Each quaich has the inscription of “new birth” in Cornish surrounded by a triscele. The Triscele design in the center is an ancient Celtic symbol of union and represents the trinity of Father, Mother and Child. Handcrafted in Cornwall of lead-free pewter. Attractively gift boxed with history card. Measurements-2” center diameter (50mm) with height of 1” (25mm).
