The Runic Iris design was inspired by the stone age tomb, Maeshowe, built around 3,000 BC. In the 17^th century Vikings broke into the tomb and carved runes on the chamber walls. The crescent shaped pendant reads clockwise, "Orkney Isles". Designed by Sheila Fleet. Pendant measures approximately 1 1/4" x 3/4" on 18 chain. Available in Sterling Silver with Skaill blue enamel, Sterling with oxidized background,  or 9ct. yellow gold. Allow up to 3 weeks to come from the workshop in Orkney, Scotland.
