The Glasgow Girls were a group of women artists and designers, including sisters Frances and Margaret Macdonald. Margaret met Charles Rennie Mackintosh when they both attended the Glasgow School of Art and they later married. Together they were instrumental in developing the Glasgow Style that we associate with the Glasgow School of Art and the Art nouveau period in the late 19th and early 20th century, although the Glasgow Girls' roles are not as widely known as that of the men.
