Review:
This album continues their string of five brilliant Celtic rock
albums that catapult the the band to the top of charts. The
formula is simple: great original songs, strong instrumental
playing, which propels the catchy vocals, and the great voice of
Steve Twigger.
There are eleven songs and four tunes (split evenly between
bagpipe and fiddle) on the album. Scalliwag is another variation
on Raggle Taggle Gypsy - there seems to be one on almost every
Gaelic Storm album. Never Drink 'Em Dry (Johnny Tarr’s Funeral)
finishes the story of one of the great drinkers who first appeared
on the “Tree” album and has been them them ever since. Kelly’s
Wellies introduces us to another memorable character to their
rogues gallery. And only Gaelic Storm could make great songs out
of an old joke - Don’t Go for the One and Tee Shirt imprints -
Kiss Me I’m Irish. Can’t wait for the the next album. |
